It is no surprise that with my love of monochromatism, the work by Sara Cwynar spoke to me the moment I saw it. Strangely, Cwynar is from Vancouver and I had never heard of her until today!

As the possibility of spending some time in Brooklyn this summer is becoming more and more of a reality, I decided to look for artists in the area. I was thrilled to discover the paintings of Fede Saenz. Native of Argentina, he has been living and working out of Brooklyn since 2003.  His work explores the basics, and investigates the problem of simplicity. Interesting line, “the problem of simplicity”. I really hope to have the chance of meeting him in person and maybe bringing back one of those fabulous pink paintings for may collection.
