I am really excited to share with you that “Irrational Fear Of Confined Spaces” will be exhibited for the first time in Los Angeles as part of MOPLA (Month Of Photography Los Angeles). From April 6th until April 27th, the pieces will be part of the group show entitled Myths curated by Jacquelyn Mason-Drayton exhibited at the gorgeous Santa Monica Art Studios.

If you are in the area, you can attend the opening on April 6th from 5pm until 7pm at the Santa Monica Art Studios3026 Airport Avenue, Santa Monica, CA, 90405. There is a slight possibility that I will be there myself.

I must apologize for the quality of these images! I only had my iPhone and the lighting wasn’t the most suitable.

These images are from the series “Irrational Fear Of Confined Spaces” on display at the Vancouver Firehall Arts Center until January 12th. If you would like a private tour, just send me a note.

It has been a fabulous autumn here in Vancouver. As the leaves fall I’m excited to announce my first Vancouver solo exhibition at the Firehall Arts Centre this December.

The exhibition is from December 5th until January 12th and the opening night will be on December 6th from 5:30pm until 7pm.

If you happen to be in the city, it would be great to see you and feel free to bring as many friends as you would like.

If you have any question or would like more details, you can email me at melissa@melissamercier.com

It’s always fabulous to be featured on any publications out there, but I must admit that it is ultra fabulous to be featured on BOOOOOOOM.

Thank you Jeff.

The image below shows the four works from my series ‘Irrational Fear Of Confined Spaces” currently in Büdelsdorf, Germany as part of NordArt 2012. They will remain there until the end of September. I’m thrilled to have my work appear in Germany for the first time and at such a prestigious fine art show. The warehouse style location looks amazing and I’m glad the curator decided to pair my turquoise monochromatic photographs with monochromatic sculptures from another artist. They seem to compliment each other quite well. There’s a hint of humanness in the placement of the sculptures as if they are perhaps gallery visitors themselves.

If you are in Büdelsdorf, and have a chance to go to NordArt, I’d love to hear about your experience.
