On the Wall

I don’t believe there is anything more exciting than seeing your own piece of art in a wonderfully decorated home. In this young art collector’s modern living room, we see Irrational Fear Of Confined Spaces 5 and if you look very closely in the reflection of the second image, you can even see a Marilyn Monroe!

It’s such a great feeling to acquire a piece of art by another artist! On Tuesday, the piece below titled “Bedroom Window, Todos Santos, Mexico” by Vancouver Photographer Anthony Redpath was delivered to my place and is now part of my daily life. I love the new emotion it has brought into my visual world and I’m looking forward to acquiring more pieces. If I’m lucky enough, I may own an Andrea Gursky one of these days!

This is one of my favorite images… kind of a new spin on a traditional idea.  It hangs in the dining area of my extended family. The tulips on the left are presented as a negative and the tulips on the right are shown in the positive, representing the differences in two human beings that walk on a united path. Kind of a special love story.

This is the original image before any digital manipulation. My “favorite” part is the tiny little red area on the petal. Can you see it? It’s funny, these flowers always remind me of a family portrait.

Have a nice day.

Here are the images on the three floors of the building where I live. They can be seen as you exit the elevator. The photographs were taken during the construction of the edifice.
Have a great Monday.
